The Decemberists - Row Jimmy (Grateful Dead cover) by jp917
An unexpected Grateful Dead cover just showed up on the B-side of a new 7” by The Decemberists. It’s simple and true and after a couple of listens I’m gonna go ahead and just call it really nice. It’s one of those songs that always feels like it’s on the precipice of being cheesy - lord knows the Dead stumbled into the Velveeta more than a few times - but this version keeps it soulful and clean and how fun is it to stumble on something like this, right? Totally.
